Don’t Miss THIS YouTube Video BOOT Camp Coming in July 2021!

Parents, your kids are going to spend time online and on YouTube!

Let’s make sure they’re critical viewers and know how to create great content. Many kids are using YouTube to express themselves, sharing their hobbies and interests with an online audience.

“YouTube is allowing children to have their own voice, it’s allowing them to be an influencer, which means that they and their families have access to opportunities that maybe they didn’t have before.”

What You’ll Learn

During our four-day boot camp, your child will be taught media literacy skills by an experienced educator, Kara Clayton, who has taught media literacy and video production courses for 25+ years at the high school level.

Our campers will learn important concepts like:

  • How to create a YouTube channel while also staying safe online
  • How YouTube’s algorithm works to gain likes and followers
  • How to decide on a YouTube niche
  • Your kids will also create video content for their channel

This means they will learn how to produce, record and edit their own videos using iMovie on their iPhones or iPads. (Great skills to have for future school projects, along with family holidays and vacations!)

“Children need to be educated on how to be good citizens of their country and what their rights and responsibilities are as members of society. The same issues need to be addressed with regard to the emerging digital society, so that children can learn how to be responsible and productive members of that society.” ― Mike Ribble, Digital Citizenship in Schools
