YOUTUBE VIDEO BOOTCAMP

July 19 – 22, 2021

During our four-day boot camp, your child will be taught media literacy skills by an experienced educator, Kara Clayton, who has taught media literacy and video production courses for 25+ years at the high school level.

Our campers will learn important concepts like:

  • How to create a YouTube channel while also staying safe online
  • How YouTube’s algorithm works to gain likes and followers
  • How to decide on a YouTube niche
  • Your kids will also create video content for their channel

(This means they will learn how to produce, record and edit their own videos using iMovie on their iPhones or iPads. (Great skills to have for future school projects, along with family holidays and vacations!)

Looking for professional development or continuing education credits?
Kara Clayton Digital Workshops are offered as full-day and two-day sessions for K-16 educators. This professional development package is focused on the integration of video technology in the classroom. The curriculum can be customized for your unique needs, to include both Media Literacy and Video Production instruction.
“Studies have shown that active learning involving media production is both engaging and effective for a wide spectrum of learners with diverse abilities offering additional evidence in support of Universal Design for Learning pedagogical practices.” (jmle.org)

“Kara Clayton Digital helped us choose video equipment for our school that was perfect for our young elementary school students. The equipment is durable, easy to use, and was set at a price point that worked with our budget.”

–Heather Jenkins, Principal, Florida
I had the privilege of working with Kara Clayton Digital where I learned video editing techniques that I still use to this day. I built many strong cross-curricular relationships with peers through the event. I highly recommend the training to anyone interested in media and video production.”
